The Children of Disobedience

The animals went in two by two. (Hoorah)

One of the most recognised stories in the bible is of Noah building an Ark made out of gopher wood to save himself and his family and a bunch of animals from the wrath of an angry god.

The great deluge promised among many things to wipe evil from the face of the earth and yet war and destruction has continued to plague mankind ever since this great catastrophe.

Why is it that chaos has continued to reign on earth in the wake of Noah and his descendants, after all, Noah was said to be righteous in his generation (Gen 6:9).

The answer to these questions will be revealed in a moment. First let us deal with a strange peculiarity surrounding the story of Noah.

And God saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every imagination of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually. (Gen 6:5)

And it repented the LORD that he had made man on the earth, and it grieved him at his heart. (Gen 6:6)

Gen 6:5 relates to the covenant made with ‘God’, whereas Gen 6:6 relates to Noah’s agreement with the ‘LORD’. It could be argued that God and LORD are separate deities, although Gen 6:19 and Gen 7:2 seems to point to the fact that two avatars from the one godhead are at play because God instructs Noah to take animals into the Ark by the two’s, something that children learned about in nursery school, however they were not taught that Noah also had a (contractual) agreement with the LORD, who instructed him to take every clean beast into the Ark by the sevens, in addition to taking unclean beasts by the twos.

The words of God. (Gen 6:19)

And of every living thing of all flesh, two of every sort shalt thou bring into the ark, to keep them alive with thee; they shall be male and female.

The words of the LORD. (Gen 7:2)

Of every clean beast thou shalt take to thee by sevens, the male and his female: and of beasts that are not clean by two, the male and his female.

An alternative theory about the Arks (magnificent) seven will become apparent soon, first, let us begin at a point of great interest.

The first book of the Torah (Book of Genesis) chronicles the genealogy of Cain קַיִן. (kah’-yin), the first murderer. The root of evil on earth begins with (Gen 4:1). The word Cain translates to spear or lance in Hebrew, which corresponds with the Holy Lance, Lance of Longinus, Spear of Destiny, and the Holy Spear, all being different names for the weapon that is alleged to have pierced the side of Jesus as he was crucified.

The birth of a spear.

And Adam knew Eve his wife; and she conceived, and bare Cain, and said, I have gotten a man from the LORD. (Gen 4:1)

The above verse immediately follows the alleged transgression of Adam and Eve (indulging in the forbidden fruit), an act which saw them being cast out of paradise and the Garden of Eden by the LORD God (Gen 3:6).

However, compare Gen 3:6 with ‘Yaldabaoth defiles Eve‘ (23.35 – 25.16) from ‘The Secret Book of John‘, Nag Hammadi scrolls, also known as the ‘Chenoboskion’ Manuscripts’ or the ‘Gnostic Gospels’. Here it is made clear that forced sex was on the agenda for the chief ruler, a trespass which made Cain a sun of the LORD, rather than a son of Adam, through God.

It is worth pointing out that early Gnosticism was heavily influenced by Merkabah מרכבה Mysticism, which was also known as ‘Chariot mysticism’, with ‘Maaseh Merkabah’ meaning ‘working of the chariot’. It might also be worth remembering the Merkabah was an early form of Jewish theology.

The Gnostic symbol of the ‘Chief Ruler’ (below) consists of a twin serpent, the torso of a man, and the head of a cockerel. The twin serpent is representative of the underworld, i.e. the sea (waters) and is probably where myths associated with sea monsters have arisen. You see parallels with Tiamat who was defeated by Marduk, Indra slaying Vritra, Thor slaying Jǫrmungandr or George slaying the dragon.

The solid torso is the EARTH element whereas the ‘cockerel’ is associated with the rising of the sun and therefore is linked to FIRE.

The letters are “ΙΑΩ” or “Iao” and “ΣΕΜΕΣ ΕΙΛΑΜ”, “Eternal Sun”.

Common throughout history and mythology is lion symbolism. If you have ever read ‘The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe’ you will know that Aslan represents the sun. The lion from the Tribe of Judah also represent the sun. The sun is a visual representation of the Platonic Solid and ruling element ‘FIRE’.

The chief ruler in Gnosticism is also recognised as a ‘Lion-faced’ serpent and is described as ‘fiery’ by nature, a personality that is succinctly revealed in the ‘Fall of Sophia‘ (9.25 – 10.19), where the ruler is said to have eyes that were flashing like bolts of lightning making him reminiscent of Zeus.

Further to this in ‘Yaldabaoth’s World Order‘ (10.19 – 13.13), the Chief Ruler is said to have created aeon’s of luminous fire, the sun being one of them.

Interestingly. Moses said this about YHWH.

For the LORD, thy God is a consuming fire, even a jealous God (Deut 4:24)

Understand therefore this day, that the LORD thy God is he which goeth over before thee; as a consuming fire… (Deut 9:3)

For our God is a consuming fire. (Heb 12:29)

When comparing the bible and Gnostic literature it is evident that LORD is a reference to the Chief Ruler ‘Yaldabaoth’ and ‘YHWH’ and ‘Elohim’ can be better understood as manifold aspects of Yaldabaoth’s universal ‘Mind’.

This Mind has been written about extensively in the Hermetic Philosophy of Ancient Egypt and Greece, also the Kybalion, and by old masters; HP Blavatsky, WQ Judge and R Crosbie. It is also known as ‘Adam Kadmon’ אָדָם קַדְמוֹן or ‘Adam Ila’ah’ אָדָם עִילָּאָה.

The ‘Lion of Judah’ corresponds with the lion-faced chief ruler. The lion being a big ‘cat’ corresponds with YHWH (Yao) symbolism in Gnostic literature.

In the Kabballah, Adam Kadmon is seen as the first spiritual world, and as part of John’s secret revelation, ‘The One‘ (2.25 – 4.19), which is Adam Kadmon, the ONE is referred to as the ‘Monad’ (Monas), the ‘Prime Parent’, and the ‘Father’, although terms like ‘father’ only serve to confuse matters because this ‘Mind’ transcends gender being the medium (seed) of such concepts manifesting.

In its broadest sense, Adam Kadmon can be thought of as a universal EGO and therefore embodies the core principle of division and separation. Like many of the texts within the Gnostic library, ‘Yaldabaoth’s World Order‘ (10,19 – 13,13) draws attention to the fact that each of the Chief Ruler’s incarnations are androgynous having male and female qualities, although these do not necessarily relate to physical beings, for example, the sixth power (a supposed son of Yaldabaoth), was ‘Cain’, who was an emanation recognised as ‘YHWH’, the sun god, aka the LORD, god of the Israelites.

From the Gnostic viewpoint, ‘Cain’ or ‘Yahweh’ is acknowledged to be the ruler over the (forces) of FIRE and AIR and was said to have the face of a cat, whereas the ‘Elohim’ was regarded as the ruler of EARTH and WATER and was said to have the face of a bear, linking the latter to the Welsh; ‘arth’, + (g)wr ‘man’ (bear-man) and the ‘just’ (righteous) aspect of King Arthur.

When taking into consideration Adam Kadmon is seen as the spiritual realm, the New Testament Book of Ephesians shines a light on the wicked ‘forces’ that humanity are battling with.

One feels almost compelled to daydream about childhood memories of Star Wars movies and that famous “use-the-force” one-liner that applied to Luke Skywalker.

For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places. (Eph 6:12)

Furthermore, Ephesians has this to say about Yahweh, the ruler of FIRE and AIR.

Wherein in time past ye walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit that now worketh in the children of disobedience. (Eph 2:2)

In Ephesians 2:2, ‘spirit’ can be associated with the dark side of the force, which is said to be working in the ‘children of disobedience’, but who are these children? The answer to this question is two-fold because the descendants of Cain represent one side of a coin, with the children of Seth representing the other.

Let us take a closer look at these generations.

Generations of Cain (Gen 4:18)

And unto Enoch was born Irad: and Irad begat Mehujael: and Mehujael begat Methusael: and Methusael begat Lamech.

Generations of Seth (Gen 5:25-27)

And Methuselah lived an hundred eighty and seven years, and begat Lamech: and Methuselah lived after he begat Lamech seven hundred eighty and two years, and begat sons and daughters: and all the days of Methuselah were nine hundred sixty and nine years: and he died.

Lamech was the 5th lineal descendant from Cain, and the husband of Adah and Zillah, who bore; Jabal, Jubal, and Tubal-Cain, and a daughter, called Naamah.

Lamech was also the seventh patriarch from Seth and the father of Noah. Lamech לֶמֶךְ, translates to ‘powerful’ in Hebrew.

Current reasoning about the name similarities between the descendants of Cain and Seth is usually dismissed as coincidental, with the two Lamech’s being a prime example of deceit.

This can be understood as follows.

In Genesis 1:26-27, the rulers, which are Yaldabaoth and his avatars, i.e. Yahweh and Elohim, collectively called God, create an androgynous ‘Man’ in their image and likeness, called Adam. The generations of this Adam is chronicled in (Gen 5:1-5) and corresponds with the androgynous man from (Gen 1:26).

When you consider the nature of the rulers, the two lines of descent become a conflict of interest between male or female aspects of the same androgyny. Adam is both male and female (Eve).

In the ‘The Nag Hammadi Scriptures’ [On the Origin of the World, 100, 29-101,23], ‘Yaldabaoth’ creates Heaven and Earth and produces androgynous sons who are described in [The Seven Heavens of Chaos, 101,24-103,2].

The ‘origin’ script relates to the primary, secondary and Tertiary structures of a powerful hive-like Mind, known as the ‘Ein Sif’ אין סוף‎, relating the subject matter to the Kabbalah, which is associated with the ‘spirit’ realm that Ephesians draws attention to, the realm of the force(s) of darkness.

The dark LORD Vader

In Hebrew, ‘da’ath’, דּעת ⟺ דַּעַת: means knowledge, perception, skill, wisdom, although this can also be applied in a cunning and ignorant way as was seen with Darth Vader in Star Wars. Vader is a Dutch word for ‘father’, where German is ‘Vater’, therefore, we have a play on ‘da’ath Vater’ meaning (powerful) ‘knowledge father’ or ‘father of knowledge’ in terms of an English translation.

In Gnostic literature, Pistis Sofia, the wisdom goddess ‘falls’ from her realm and creates ‘Yaldabaoth’. The falling aspect is important here because it relates primarily to a fall from grace, like the fall of Lucifer, or if you are a Star Wars fan, then it becomes the fall of ‘Anakin Skywalker’ from powerful Jedi to Darth Vader, or if you are a bible follower, another fall can relate to the ‘Sons of God’ (for God appointed Seth) in Gen 4:25.

And Adam knew his wife again; and she bare a son, and called his name Seth: For God, said she, hath appointed me another seed instead of Abel, whom Cain slew.

Recall how Yaldabaoth the Chief Ruler raped Eve, whereas the Bible words it that Eve had gotten a man from the LORD.

The fall of the ‘Sons of God’, who can be identified with the generations of Seth, who God appointed, began with Jared, although Lamech the ‘powerful’ is a key figure in the Book of Genesis in terms of a wider spectacular fall from grace.

Rather than look at two Lamech’s hailing from individual lines of Cain AND Seth, it is more appropriate to view Cain and Seth as male and female aspects of a bigger character — on one side of the coin there was the potential to become one of the most powerful patriarchs by definition of the meaning of a name (Lamech) but this potential turned to the dark side.

Lamech was not the first of the patriarchs to fall from grace, it began with the children of his great grandfather ‘Jared’ יֶרֶד (yeh’-red), which is from ‘Yarad’ יָרַד (yaw-rad) and translates in Hebrew as ‘descent’, as in to go down or to be brought down (fall), the idea that is presented in chapter six.

That the sons of God (Sethites) saw the daughters of men (Kenites) that they were fair; and they took them wives of all which they chose. (Gen 6:2)

Not much is said in Genesis about the above fall, which relates to Lamech who took two wives, Adah and Zillah, who were Kenites (Csinites) and most likely Methuselah as well, the father of Lamech, whose name translates to dart in Hebrew, from the root shelach which means weapon, relating back to his sword.

Close in terms of name to Methuselah, in the House of Cain, is Methusael, a word which translates to ‘who is of God’. Curiously, Methuselah was of God because he was a Sethite, but having descended into the land of Cain became Methusael. It would explain the association with a powerful sword (weapon) as a result of marrying into the SMITHS who were the elite weapon-makers born of FIRE — Methuselah’s sword turned into FIRE.

An alternative version of the fall is told in ‘The Forgotten Books of Eden’ by Rutherford H. Platt, Jr., [1926], which describes how it all began to go wrong for the so-called righteous line of God when Jared is lured down from the sacred moun(tain) and into the land of Cain where he witnesses many horrifying things and barely escapes with a clean heart, only for some of his children (Methuselah and Lamech) to the fall into disobedience (the dark side) and be denied a return to the mountain of God.

Lamech (translation : powerful) seems to be the biblical parallel of ‘Anakin Skywalker’ who was portrayed as the most powerful Jedi — before his fall, where he then misused ‘da’ath’ to become the one and only powerful LORD Vader?

Interestingly, one of Anakin Skywalker’s allies was Yoda. The Hebrew word ‘Yada’, יָדַע, is pronounced ‘yaw-dah’, like Yoda, and means to ‘know’, in the sense of being ‘learned’ and ‘disciplined’. This sounds very much like that wise and disciplined green Jedi master.

The same is with ‘Ben Kenobi’, who is portrayed as an old Jedi master living in the ‘mountains’ (as a Son of God) and who shares striking similarities with ‘Enoch’ חֲנוֹךְ (Enoch or Chanok is pronounced khan-oke’) in the sense ‘Chanok’ means ‘dedicated’ and to ‘train up’. This is what Ben Kenobi did with ‘Luke Skywalker’ with the help of ‘Yaw-daw’. This would mean Obi-Wan ‘Ben’ Kenobi, (Kenite), was a son of Chanok (Enoch), as in ‘Obi-Wan-Ben-Khan-oke’

In the film, ‘Return of the Jedi’, Ben Kenobi mysteriously ‘disappears’ as Darth Vader attempts to strike him down. Similarly, Enoch (Khan-oke) ‘walked with God: and he was no more; for God took him’ (Gen 5:21-24).

Without digressing any further, and assuming that ‘Lamech the powerful’ is androgynous like the rulers that are documented throughout Gnostic literature, who have male and female attributes and names, then there is only ONE true line of descent that is ‘split’ between the duality of male and female androgyny.

Likening Lamech the powerful of the (so-called) righteous line of Seth with Anakin Skywalker, and Da’ath Vater with the dark element of the force (represented by the Cain line), the eternal (internal) struggle between ‘dark’ forces and that of light becomes apparent in biblical text. Luke (Skywalker) stems from the Latin word ‘Lucius’ and ‘Lucis’ translates to light.

Jesus is the light of the world (John 8:12).

2 Corinthians 11 : 14

And no marvel; for Satan himself is transformed into an angel of light

Darkness hiding beneath the light…

Keeping with the Gnostic tradition of falling, Kenite Lamech would represent the dark side of a two-fold personality. Noah was born to Lamech when he was a Son of God, which probably explains why Noah finds favour with God of the Sethites and LORD of the Kenites, which is what his father and grandfather changed to.

Significantly, however, it was Noah’s (Kenite) half siblings that were responsible for bringing the antediluvian era into the New World. Remember these were the children of Lamech, which translates to powerful.

And Adah bare Jabal: he was the father of such as dwell in tents, and of such as have cattle. (Gen 4:20)

And his brother’s name was Jubal: he was the father of all such as handle the harp and organ. (Gen 4:21)

And Zillah, she also bare Tubalcain, an instructor of every artificer in brass and iron: and the sister of Tubalcain was Naamah. (Gen 4:22)

The following refers to the above.

There were giants in the earth in those days; and also after that, when the sons of God came in unto the daughters of men, and they bare children to them, the same became mighty men which were of old, men of renown. (Gen 6:4)

Is there any evidence in the bible which shows whether these mighty men (and woman) survived the flood? Let us take another look at the words of the LORD when spoke to Noah. (Gen 7:2).

Of every clean beast thou shalt take to thee by sevens, the male and his female: and of beasts that are not clean by two, the male and his female.

According to Jewish tradition, (see Abba b. Kahana) the name of Noah’s wife was Naamah, so if you include Tubalcain, Jubal, Jabal, Zillah, Adah and Lamech there are seven in total, eight if you include Noah. The number of people on the ark was said to be eight.

But what of Shem, Japheth and Ham?

I propose that Shem is Jabal, Japheth is Jubal and Ham is Tubalcain.

As (Gen 4:20) notes, Jabal was the father of ‘tent dwellers’ and ‘cattle owners’, and Shem and his descendants are said to have dwelt in tents and were very rich in cattle.

The following verses are just a few samples, in total ‘tents’ is mentioned (98) times in the bible and tent (66) times.

The tents of Shem (Gen 9:27).

Abram dwelled in the land of Canaan, and Lot dwelled in the cities of the plain, and pitched his tent toward Sodom (Gen 13:12)

Then Abram removed his tent… (Gen 13:18).

And the LORD appeared unto him in the plains of Mamre: and he sat in the tent door in the heat of the day (Gen 18:1)

And Isaac departed thence, and pitched his tent in the valley of Gerar, and dwelt there (Gen 26:17)

How goodly are thy tents, O Jacob, and thy tabernacles, O Israel! (Numbers 24:5)

And the boys grew: and Esau was a cunning hunter, a man of the field; and Jacob was a plain man, dwelling in tents (Gen 25:27)

And Abram was very rich in cattle, in silver, and in gold. (Gen 13:2).

Then Laban overtook Jacob. Now Jacob had pitched his tent in the mount: and Laban with his brethren pitched in the mount of Gilead. (Gen 31:25)

Then there is the father of those that handle the harp and organ.

King David playing his Harp

Jabal had a brother: And his brother’s name was Jubal: he was the father of all such as handle the harp and organ (Gen 4:21).

And it came to pass, when the evil spirit from God was upon Saul, that David took a harp, and played with his hand: so, Saul was refreshed, and was well, and the evil spirit departed from him (1 Samuel 16:23)

I will also praise thee with the psaltery, even thy truth, O my God: unto thee will I sing with the harp, O thou Holy One of Israel. (Psalms 71:22)

And David and all the house of Israel played before the LORD on all manner of instruments made of firewood, even on harps, and on psalteries, and on timbrels, and on cornets, and on cymbals. (2 Samuel 6:5).

Then there was Tubal-Cain (Ham), an instructor of every artificer in brass and iron, i e. he was the father of all the smiths, weapon makers and warrior tribes.

And Ham was the father of Canaan (Gen 9:22)

And Canaan begat Sidon his first born, and Heth (Gen 10:15)

Heth was acknowledged to be the progenitor of the powerful Hittites that dominated warfare with superior weaponry (smiths). They were known as the chittiy, or the sons of Heth.

And Abraham stood up from before his dead, and spake unto the sons of Heth. (Gen 23:3)
